    GenIP (hereinafter referred to as "the Company") makes every effort to ensure that users can use the services provided by the Company with confidence. The Company complies with the personal information protection regulations stipulated by relevant laws that information and communication service providers must adhere to, such as the Personal Information Protection Act, the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, the Protection of Communications Secrets Act, and the Telecommunications Business Act, and has established the following Privacy Policy to handle user complaints regarding personal information smoothly.

    This policy is effective as of August 15, 2024.

    1. Purpose of Processing Personal Information

    The Company processes personal information collected for the following purposes. Personal information will not be used for any other purpose than those stated, and if there is a change in purpose, the Company will seek prior consent from the members. Users may refuse to consent to the collection of personal information by not providing their information. However, in such cases, certain services provided to the users may be restricted.

    1. Member Management

    Personal information is processed to confirm membership intent, identify and authenticate individuals for the provision of membership-based services, notify or communicate various matters, and prevent the misuse of services.

    1. Provision of Goods or Services

    Personal information is processed for service provision, payment and settlement of fees, identity verification for financial transactions, debt collection, customer service, and accident handling.

    Personal information is processed for the development of new services, service specialization, satisfaction surveys, determining access frequency, or extracting statistics on users’ service usage.

    1. Marketing and Advertising (if consent to receive marketing information is given)

    Personal information is processed for advertising, service guidance, and the provision of benefits.

    2. Categories of Personal Information Collected and Collection Methods

    Through Voluntary Provision by Members for the Purpose of Membership Registration and Service Provision

    A. The following information is collected:

    1) Basic Information

    2) Required: Name, ID, password, email address, mobile phone number

    3) Optional: Telephone number, consent to receive emails and SMS, survey items (such as how you heard about us, purpose of registration)

    4) Optional: Patent Attorney: Test taken, test round (year), affiliated patent attorney society, affiliated institution

    B. Personal Information Generated and Collected During Service and Website Usage

    Personal information such as IP address, cookies, MAC address, device information, browser information, search terms, service usage records, payment records, visit records, records of improper use, access logs, etc., may be additionally generated and collected.

    3. Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties

    The Company uses personal information within the scope notified in "1. Purpose of Processing Personal Information" and, in principle, does not disclose personal information to external parties without the prior consent of the information subject. However, the following cases are exceptions:

    When the information subject has given prior consent

    When required by law or when requested by investigative agencies according to the procedures and methods prescribed by law for investigative purposes

    4. Entrustment of Personal Information Processing

    The Company entrusts personal information for smooth business processing as follows and stipulates necessary matters in the entrustment contract to ensure that personal information is safely managed according to relevant laws. The Company’s personal information processing institutions and entrusted tasks are as follows:

    • Microsoft / Use of corporate cloud / Until the purpose is achieved
    • Amazon Web Services / Use of corporate cloud / Until the purpose is achieved
    • OpenAI / Use of corporate cloud / Until the purpose is achieved

    5. Retention and Processing Period of Personal Information

    The Company processes and retains personal information within the personal information retention and usage period agreed upon when collecting the information from members. However, the following information is retained for the reasons and durations stated below:

    Name, phone number, date of birth, email address are retained until the processing purpose is completed after member withdrawal to prevent duplicate receipt of event benefits and to block fraudulent users.

    In cases where investigations or investigations related to violations of laws are in progress, the information is retained until the investigation is concluded.

    In cases where there are outstanding financial obligations due to service usage, the information is retained until the settlement of such obligations.

    Records related to transactions, such as display/advertising, contract content, and fulfillment under the Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, the Electronic Financial Transactions Act, records related to electronic financial transactions, records under the Protection of Communications Secrets Act, and location tracking data are retained for the period specified by applicable laws.

    6. Destruction of Personal Information

    The Company will promptly destroy the relevant information after the retention and processing period of personal information has expired, in accordance with "5. Retention and Processing Period of Personal Information."

    7. Rights of Information Subjects and How to Exercise Them

    Information subjects may view or modify their registered personal information at any time and may exercise the following rights:

    A. Access, correction, and processing suspension of personal information

    Users may request access, correction, and suspension of the processing of their personal information, and the Company provides a way to make such requests through its website.

    B. Withdrawal of consent to collection, use, and provision

    Users may withdraw their consent to the collection, use, and provision of personal information at any time through the Company’s website.

    C. Notification of third-party provision of personal information

    Users may request the Company to notify them of the details of any provision of their personal information to third parties.

    8. Measures for Ensuring the Safety of Personal Information

    The Company takes the following protective measures to prevent the loss, theft, leakage, alteration, or damage of personal information:

    Establishment and implementation of internal management plans, regular education for handlers, etc.

    B. Technical measures

    Management of access rights to personal information processing systems, installation of access control systems, encryption of key personal information, and installation of security programs

    C. Physical measures

    Access control for data rooms and data storage rooms

    9. Matters Concerning the Installation and Operation of Automatic Personal Information Collection Devices

    The Company uses 'cookies' to provide web services. Cookies are small amounts of information sent by the server to the user's computer browser and may be stored on the user's PC hard disk.

    A. Purpose of Using Cookies

    Cookies are used to identify the usage patterns of the web pages visited by users and whether secure connections are made.

    B. Installation, operation, and rejection of cookies

    Users can refuse cookie storage by adjusting the options in their web browser's privacy menu under Tools > Internet Options. Refusing to store cookies will not result in any disadvantage.

    10. Personal Information Protection Officer and Contact Information

    You may report all personal information protection-related complaints arising from your use of the Company’s services to the Personal Information Protection Officer. The Company will take swift and adequate action regarding your reports.

    11. Changes to the Privacy Policy

    If there are additions, deletions, or modifications to the current Privacy Policy, the Company will notify you through the Company’s website 'Notice' at least seven days before the revision. However, in the case of significant changes to users' rights, such as the collection and use of personal information and provision to third parties, the Company will notify you at least 30 days in advance.
